Liberty PlugIns knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This Privacy Policy outlines the information Liberty PlugIns will collect, how we will use that information, how we protect that information and how, in limited instances, we share that information. All use of Liberty PlugIns’ products and services, as well as visits to our website, are subject to this Privacy Policy.

Information that we ask you to provide

Liberty PlugIns’ primary goal in collecting information is to allow us to offer products and services which are relevant to plug-in vehicle drivers like you. Personal information also allows us to provide services and features intended to meet your needs and to customize our products and services to make your experience positive and efficient. Based on your use of our products and services and our business relationship with you, we may collect different types of personal information such as contact information, billing information and personal history to allow us to better serve you.

Information we collect automatically from the equipment used to charge your car

We automatically receive certain types of information whenever you charge your plug-in vehicle, and when you use your Liberty PlugIns phone app and Web site. For example, when you access the website, we automatically collect your devices’ and computer’s IP address, the date and time of your access and the type of browser you use. We also automatically collect information about your computer’s operating system, your location and the Web site accessed. Other information we collect when we provide you service includes when you use your workplace vehicle charger or access the Liberty PlugIns charging network, the duration of your charging session, how much power you consume and the location of the charging station you choose.

Some of this information is automatically collected through systems or tracking tools such as cookies, tracking pixels, and web beacons. Cookies allow us to track aggregate and individual use of our services and to enable features to our web pages.

How we use information

We may use your personal information to contact you. We may respond to your comments or requests for information or we may contact you if needed in the course of fulfilling a service request or processing payments. We may also use your personal information to confirm and verify your status as a user of the Liberty PlugIns system. We will also use personal information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to optimize the products and services for our customers, to develop new products and services, to analyze our web site usage and to improve our content and product offerings. We may also use this information to deliver information to you that is targeted to your interests.

Data security

Liberty PlugIns is committed to keeping the data you provide us secure and will take the same steps to protect your information that it does to protect company confidential information from loss, misuse or alteration. We share the information we collect with owners of Liberty PlugIns equipment (with your employer, for example), and its subsidiaries and affiliates, to offer you products and services that may be of interest to you. Also, we may share information with Liberty PlugIns equipment owners, third parties and business partners that is in aggregated or anonymous form so that it does not divulge personal information, and may work with those entities to do research, including for marketing purposes, and provide and improve products and services. When we employ non-Liberty PlugIns companies to aggregate information on our behalf, the requirements for sharing personal information with non-Liberty PlugIns companies apply. Your personal information may be shared with third parties for the following purposes:

  • When necessary to comply with the law, an order from a court with competent jurisdiction or regulatory agency;
  • To assist with identity verification, and to prevent fraud and identity theft;
  • To protect the rights, property and safety of Liberty PlugIns or our customers;
  • When the third party is performing services on Liberty PlugIns’ behalf for the customer;
  • To obtain payment for products and services, including the transfer or sale of delinquent accounts to third parties for collection; or
  • In connection with a Business transfer (described below).

Business transfers

If Liberty PlugIns or substantially all of its assets are transferred through merger, acquisition, bankruptcy or any other change of corporate control then personal information will be transferred with the assets and personal information may be disclosed as part of any such transaction.

Policy changes

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. If in the future we wish to use your information for unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this Privacy Policy we will notify you of our change.

Your Acceptance of our Privacy Policy

By using this webpage and becoming user of Liberty PlugIns system, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to any of the terms in this Privacy Policy, Liberty PlugIns is unable to provide its services and products to you so please do not submit any personal information to Liberty PlugIns or request to become a customer if you don’t agree to this Privacy Policy.

Your California privacy rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 entitles California customers to request information concerning whether a business has disclosed Personal Information to any third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. As stated in this Privacy Policy, Liberty PlugIns may share your personal information within Liberty PlugIns and its affiliates, but we will not sell or share such information with non-Liberty PlugIns companies for their direct marketing purposes without your consent.
